This weeks video was all about doing! We have to put the time, effort, and attention, into relationships if we want them to be strong. The same goes for our relationship with Jesus! If we want a strong personal relationship with Jesus, then it starts with us putting time into getting to know him. It doesn’t matter if you have been a Christain for a long time, or if you are brand new and just starting your relationship with Jesus, there is something that we all can do to have a deeper relationship with him. By spending time getting to know Jesus better through prayer and studying his word, we can take our relationship to a deeper level with him! How much time do you spend on building your relationship with Jesus? Do you find it easy to set aside and protect your time with Jesus?
As a Christian we are called to live a life that resembles Jesus in all that we do. Just like Peter and John, our life as a Christain should look differently then people that don’t have a relationship with Jesus. Our goal should be to be seen as someone who has been with Jesus. Does your life look differently then most of the people around you? Take a few moments and discuss practical things you can do as a family and choices you can make as a family to be different than the rest of the world.
Pastor Jason said that when it comes to our relationship with Jesus, we only experience as much of Jesus as we pursue. Take a moment and reflect on when you first started your relationship with Jesus. How has your relationship with him changed as a result of pursuing Christ? Do you find it easy to put your trust in Jesus? And if not, what is holding you back?
