    REFLECTION QUESTIONS

Throughout this year there has been a lot of uncertainty. People all across America, and the whole world for that matter, are trying to relearn how to do everyday life. Now some things are starting to go back to normal, and others things have been adapted to a new normal. These are just what we openly see all around us, but this doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of how we have been affected by the last year. As Christians we know that there is power in the name of Jesus, but for those that don’t have that relationship with him, fear, depression, and anxiety have a major impact on everyday life. How has your life been affected by this last year? How can you use your situation to bring hope to others around you?

Like Pastor Jason said, it’s in times of uncertainty that we can really see God move in big ways in our life. Have you ever found yourself in a dire situation and felt like there was no way out? How did God work through that situation in your life? Share with each other how God has come through for you. If you are by yourself, share with whoever God brings to mind to encourage them! If you are in the middle of a “storm” as Jason called it, surrender it to God and watch him work.

In Matthew 14:28-30, we see an awesome depiction of Jesus’ power and love. Peter took his eyes off of Jesus and started to sink. Even so, Jesus still reached into the water to pull Peter back to him. Even when we fail to keep our focus on Jesus, he is still there ready to rescue us from our situation. One way that we, as Christians, can have security in Jesus is by keeping our focus on him. Do you have any areas of your life that need to be made stronger through Jesus? I want to encourage you to ask God to give you the strength to focus on Jesus, not the storms of your life.

My prayer for anyone who is reading this is that you will come to have a faith in Jesus that can not be shaken by any storm that you may face. Always remember God is in control!
